How do I Make a Halloween Costume?

With your creative imagination and mind anything can be a costume. Some costumes could be made with small items, like jewelry, while others are more elaborate full outfits.

Once you have decided on what you’re going to be, think about what the person or character wears. Would the costume entail a hat? A necklace? What about a mask? Then, when you have a few good ideas, search Claire’s and let your creativity flow.

How Do You Make a Halloween Mask?

If the costume requires a masquerade mask, don’t worry. There are some simple ways to make one at home! All you need is:

  • Paper plates
  • A long shoestring or elastic Markers A stapler Scissors

Steps:

  1. Take your paper plate and draw your design on it. Be sure to include eyeholes in the design.
  2. Then, with some help from an adult, cut out the eye holes and the rest of your design. Place the mask on your face to see if it needs any more cuts or shaping with the scissors.
  3. Take the elastic and staple both ends of it to the sides of the mask. If you’re using shoestrings, it might be best to use two shoestrings and tie them in the back for a better fit.
  4. Put it on!
