Claire’s Rewards Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“TERMS”) CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR PARTICIPATING IN THE CLAIRE’S REWARDS PROGRAM, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT ACCESS OR PARTICIPATE IN THE CLAIRE’S REWARDS PROGRAM.

Claire’s Accessories UK Limited is a private company registered in England and Wales under company number 3115118, with its registered office at Unit 4 Bromford Gate, Bromford Lane, Birmingham, B24 8DL and VAT number 927124727 (“Claire’s”, “us”, “we” or “our”). Claire’s operates https://www.claires.com/myrewards (the “Rewards Site”).


1. Understanding these Terms


1.1 These Terms apply to your access to, and participation in, the Claire’s Rewards program in the United Kingdom and Ireland (“Claire’s Rewards”), which is operated by Claire’s.
1.2 When certain words and phrases are used in these Terms, they have specific meanings (these are known as "defined terms"). You can identify these defined terms because they start with capital letters (even if they are not at the start of a sentence). Where a defined term is used, it has the meaning given to it in the section of these Terms where it was defined (you can find these meanings by looking at the sentence where the defined term is included in brackets and speech marks).
1.3 In these Terms, when we refer to “you” or “your” we mean you, the person registering to participate, or participating in, Claire’s Rewards.
1.4 These Terms tell you who we are, how we will provide Claire’s Rewards, how we may change these Terms, how each of us may end the agreement between you and us, what to do if there is a problem and other important information. Terms and conditions you provide have no legal effect and do not form part of these Terms.
1.5 Please note that we only use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Notice https://www.claires.com/privacy-policy.html.
1.6 You should review these Terms, related policies, and FAQs https://www.claires.com/rewards/faq/ related to Claire’s Rewards to fully understand the terms and conditions that apply to your access to and participation in this program.

2. Joining Claire’s Rewards & Eligibility


2.1 In the United Kingdom, Claire’s Rewards is open to those who are 13 years of age or older and in Ireland, to those who are 16 years of age or older. A valid email address is required to create a Claire’s Rewards Account (“Rewards Account”). A Rewards Account is required to be eligible for Claire’s Rewards. There is a limit of one Rewards Account per person in each jurisdiction where we operate Claire’s Rewards. No purchase or fee is required to sign up for a Rewards Account or enroll in the Claire’s Rewards program.
2.2 Claire’s Rewards is a customer rewards program that allows members to earn and accumulate points (“Points”) that can be redeemed for coupons (“Reward Coupons”). Reward Coupons and other offers associated with Claire’s Rewards may be governed by additional terms, such as specific expiration dates, purchase limitations, item restrictions, redemption locations, or legal disclosures (“Additional Terms”). Please review any applicable Additional Terms.
2.3 You may create a Rewards Account to join Claire’s Rewards by:
(a) visiting the Rewards Site and following the prompts to create a Rewards Account;
(b) visiting any Claire’s retail store in your country of residence and asking a store associate to help you sign up; or
(c) any other methods offered by Claire’s.
2.4 If you believe a Rewards Account may have been created in error, please contact Customer Service at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk or +44 (0) 345 603 6088 to review your options. Claire’s may, in its reasonable discretion, allow individuals to combine or consolidate existing Rewards Accounts, subject to and in accordance with these Terms.
2.5 We have the right to disable any Rewards Accounts and/or passwords, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms.
2.6 If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your Account login details, you must immediately notify us at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk or +44 (0) 345 603 6088.
2.7 You are responsible for any unauthorised use of your Account login details.

3. Earning Points


3.1 Points may be earned when you:
(a) make a qualifying purchase (as further detailed in clause 3.2) at a retail store operated by Claire’s in your country of residence (a “Qualifying Store”) or make a qualifying purchase on www.claires.com (each a “Qualifying Purchase”); or
(b) participate in other opportunities offered by Claire’s (“Additional Qualifying Activities”), collectively, “Qualifying Activities”.
3.2 Please note that Points cannot be earned for: (i) any purchase made using a Reward Coupon; (ii) store credit or merchandise credit; (iii) charity donations; (iv) purchase of a gift card; or (v) the value of any gifts-with-purchase. All other purchases will be qualifying purchases.
3.3 Examples of Additional Qualifying Activities include, but are not limited to: (i) a one-time reward of a certain number of Points per person for completing your Rewards Account profile; (ii) visiting Claire’s social media profiles (e.g., Instagram, Facebook); (iii) signing up to receive text messages from Claire’s; or (iv) signing up to receive the Claire’s email newsletters. These one-time rewards of a certain number of Points per person cannot be earned more than once for each Rewards Account and cannot be applied to more than one Rewards Account. Additional Terms may apply to Additional Qualifying Activities.
3.4 Points will only be awarded after you confirm your registration via email. After you confirm your registration via email, any Points earned for Qualifying Activities from the time you create a Rewards Account to the time of email confirmation will be awarded within 36 hours of email confirmation.
3.5 You must have a valid and confirmed Rewards Account to earn Points through Qualifying Activities. Points cannot be accrued for purchases made before enrolment in Claire’s Rewards.
3.6 To earn Points for a Qualifying Purchase at a Claire’s retail store, you must provide the store associate with your email address (or mobile phone number, if provided during the enrolment process) when prompted during the sales transaction.
3.7 To earn Points for a Qualifying Purchase on www.claires.com, you must log into your www.claires.com account, which is connected to your Rewards Account, before making a purchase.
3.8 Points will not be awarded for processing charges, delivery surcharges, shipping and handling, state and any other applicable governmental fees, charges for plastic shopping bags, and purchases not linked to your Rewards Account.
3.9 Points are calculated after discounts are deducted from, or coupons are applied to, the purchase price.
3.10 You cannot earn Points for any unauthorized or fraudulent charges. Claire’s reserves the right to remove Points earned from any unauthorized or fraudulent charges from your Rewards Account.
3.11 Points for purchases made through www.claires.com qualify once all items have shipped and will be automatically added to your Rewards Account within approximately 36 hours of shipment. Points for purchases of items in the same transaction that are shipped separately will be added to your Rewards Account once the final item has shipped. For in-store purchases and Additional Qualifying Activities, Points will appear in your Rewards Account within approximately 36 hours of your completion of the Qualifying Activity.
3.12 You may view your Points and activity: (i) in the Rewards Account status emails we send to you; (ii) by logging into your Rewards Account at https://www.claires.com/myrewards; or (iii) by contacting Customer Service at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk or +44 (0) 345 603 6088.

4. Value of Points


4.1 Points do not have any monetary or cash value and are not redeemable for cash. You will receive 1 Point for every £1.00 (or €1.00) spent with your Rewards Account. For every 100 Points you earn, you will receive a £5.00 (or €5.00) Reward Coupon which will be issued 31 days after you have earned the 100 Points.
4.2 The value of Points earned may change from time to time. We will notify you in if there will be a change in the value of Points earned in accordance with these Terms.
4.3 Points are calculated based on the purchase price of the item(s) at the time of purchase, after discounts and coupons have been applied, and after taxes and fees are applied.
4.4 Qualifying Purchases will be rounded down to the nearest whole pound (or euro) amount before being calculated as Points if the Points calculation is less than .5 (e.g., a Qualifying Purchase of £5.49 (or €5.49) will earn 5 Points) and Qualifying Purchases will be rounded up to the nearest whole pound (or euro) amount before being calculated as Points if the Points calculation is equal to or greater than .5 (e.g., a Qualifying Purchase of £5.50 (or €5.50) will earn 6 Points).

5. Reward Coupons


5.1 Once you accumulate the required number of Points to earn a Reward Coupon, those Points will be deducted from your Rewards Account and converted to a Reward Coupon. Reward Coupon(s) will be issued to your Rewards Account on the thirty-first day after the required number of Points has accumulated in your Rewards Account and will be sent to the email address associated with your Rewards Account. A maximum of five (5) Reward Coupons may be issued per day per Claire’s Rewards member.
5.2 Issued Reward Coupons can be accessed: (i) by logging into the Rewards Site and viewing your Claire’s Rewards profile; (ii) by identifying yourself as a Claire’s Rewards member by providing the email (or mobile phone number, if provided during the enrolment process) associated with your Rewards Account in-store; or (iii) by contacting Customer Service at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk or +44 (0) 345 603 6088.
5.3 Reward Coupons will be issued in £5.00 (or €5.00) increments with unique promo codes that can be used in-store or online (“Reward Coupon Code”). Each Reward Coupon Code may be used only once. Points will be converted to Reward Coupons in the order that the Points were earned.
5.4 Claire’s may change: (i) the manner in which Points are calculated; (ii) how many Points must be accrued to earn a Reward Coupon; and (iii) the value of a Reward Coupon at any time, in accordance with these Terms.

6. Point Expiration and Reward Coupon Expiration


6.1 Points accrued in your Rewards Account will expire 12 months from the date of the Qualifying Activity.
6.2 Each Reward Coupon will expire 90 days after it is issued.

7. Reward Coupon Redemption


7.1 You may only use Reward Coupons that are associated with your own active Rewards Account.
7.2 Unexpired Reward Coupons may be redeemed when making purchases of Claire’s merchandise at any Claire’s retail store or by entering the Reward Coupon Code when making a purchase on www.claires.com.
7.3 Reward Coupons may not be redeemed for purchases of Claire’s merchandise made at any other retailer.
7.4 Reward Coupons cannot be applied to: (i) previous purchases; (ii) charity donations; (iii) purchase of a gift card or redemption of a gift card; (iv) processing charges; (v) delivery surcharges; (vi) shipping and handling; (vii) charges for plastic shopping bags; or (viii) state and any other applicable governmental fees.
7.5 The value of Reward Coupons is calculated in Pound Sterling (or Euros).
7.6 Multiple Reward Coupons may be redeemed when making a purchase at a Claire’s retail store in your country of residence or on www.claires.com. A minimum merchandise purchase of £5.01 (or €5.01) (excluding taxes and shipping charges) is required in order to redeem your Reward Coupons on www.claires.com.
7.7 Any remaining unused amount of a redeemed Reward Coupon will be forfeited (and no cash back or change will be given for the unused amount).
7.8 When using a Reward Coupon, you are responsible for all charges in excess of the value of the Reward Coupon. Claire’s store associates may reject the use of any Reward Coupons that may violate these Terms or otherwise be fraudulent.
7.9 The Reward Coupon will be applied after all other promotional credits or discounts offered at the time of purchase are applied to your purchase.
7.10 To use a Reward Coupon when making a purchase in one of our retail stores in your country of residence you must identify yourself as a Claire’s Rewards member by providing the email address (or mobile phone number, if provided during the enrolment process) associated with your Rewards Account at checkout. Claire’s reserves the right to require the person using a Reward Coupon to show proof that they are the person associated with the corresponding Rewards Account.
7.11 To use a Reward Coupon when making a purchase on www.claires.com, you must log into your online account associated with your Rewards Account and select the applicable Reward Coupon to be applied to your cart. Claire’s reserves the right to require the person using a Reward Coupon to validate that they are the person associated with the corresponding Rewards Account.
7.12 You are solely responsible for all local taxes and any other costs or expenses of accepting and using Reward Coupons or other promotional credits or discounts offered at the time of purchase.
7.13 You shall not give, sell, or otherwise provide Reward Coupon Codes, Reward Coupons, or Points to any other person. You shall not copy, imitate, or otherwise fabricate Reward Coupon Codes, Reward Coupons, or Points, nor shall you give, sell, or otherwise provide such copies, imitations, or fabrications to any other person.

8. Other Claire’s Rewards Benefits


8.1 By creating and maintaining a Rewards Account, you are eligible to receive:
(a) A one-time 20% discount to your next purchase following enrolment in Claire’s Rewards. This benefit is valid at www.claires.com and retail stores operated by Claire’s in your country of residence only, and may not be applied to purchases of Claire’s merchandise made at any other retailer. The discount will not be applied to taxes, shipping and handling, charity donations, prior purchases, or charges for plastic shopping bags. This benefit will be valid for a period of 90 days from when we send you the discount code. Please note that, once redeemed, the discount cannot be reapplied to any future purchases.
(b) An annual special birthday offer associated with the Rewards Account, if you provide a date of birth. You will receive an email detailing the offer, which is subject to Additional Terms.
(c) Free shipping twice per year on online purchases through www.claires.com. Shipping offers apply to standard shipping and handling in your country of residence. This benefit is only valid on items that are in stock. You will be provided with a unique promo code twice per year. Additional Terms may apply to the eligibility of items for this benefit.
(d) Exclusive promotional offers, as determined in Claire’s sole discretion from time-to-time and subject to Additional Terms.
(e) Advance notice of product launches and special events.
(f) Invitations to participate in special Points events, subject to Additional terms.

9. Returns


9.1 If you return a purchase for which you earned Points (in accordance with Claire’s then- current return policy), the Points associated with your Rewards Account will be reduced by the number of Points equivalent to the amount of the earned Points you originally received. In the event of an even exchange, any Points earned in association with the original purchase will remain in your Rewards Account. In the event of an exchange of an item of lesser value, the difference in value from your original purchase will be deducted from your Rewards Account in the form of appropriately-calculated Points. In the event of an exchange for an item of greater value, any additional expenditure will accrue Points in accordance with these Terms. Any new promotional offers in effect at the time of an exchange will not apply, nor modify your Rewards Account balance.
9.2 If you return an item purchased using a Reward Coupon, the refund will exclude the Reward Coupon amount. You may contact Customer Service at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk or +44 (0) 345 603 6088 to have your Reward Coupon reinstated.

10. Points, Reward Coupons, and Rewards Accounts Are Non-Transferable and Not Redeemable for Cash


10.1 Except where required by applicable law, Rewards Accounts, Points, Reward Coupons, and other Claire’s Benefits: (i) do not have any monetary or cash value; (ii) may not be redeemed for cash; and (iii) do not have any cash equivalent except when being used to make purchases of Claire’s merchandise subject to these Terms.
10.2 Rewards Accounts, Points, and Reward Coupons are not transferable to any other person.
10.3 If the total amount of a purchase you make using a Reward Coupon is less than the amount of the Reward Coupon, you will forfeit the balance of the Reward Coupon. For example, if you use a £5.00 (or €5.00) Reward Coupon to make a £4.50 (or €4.50) purchase, you will not be given £.50 (or €0.50) in change, nor will Points be credited back to your Rewards Account.

11. Termination or Closure of Your Rewards Account


11.1 Claire’s is not responsible for Points or Reward Coupons that expire, are lost by you, or are redeemed due to fraudulent activity. Suspected illegal, fraudulent, or other unauthorized use or misuse of Points, Reward Coupons, or any other activity inconsistent with these Terms may, in Claire’s reasonable discretion, result in termination or revocation of your participation in Claire’s Rewards. Such termination will result in the loss of all accumulated Points earned and Reward Coupons issued but not yet redeemed.
11.2 You may elect to close your Rewards Account at any time by calling Claire’s at +44 (0) 345 603 6088 or emailing Claire’s at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk. Upon any closure or termination of your Rewards Account, any Points associated with your Rewards Account will automatically drop to zero. If you later elect to re-enrol in Claire’s Rewards, you will have access to any unexpired Reward Coupons associated with your terminated Rewards Account, however, your beginning Points balance will be zero (with the exception of any welcome Points added to your new Rewards Account, if applicable).

12. Updating Your Rewards Account


12.1 You may access and update your Rewards Account information, including your email address (except if you are an employee) by: (i) logging into your online account on www.claires.com; (ii) at any Claire’s retail store in your country of residence; (iii) by emailing our Customer Service Team at onlinecustomerservices@claires.co.uk; or (iv) by calling us at +44 (0) 345 603 6088.
12.2 It is your responsibility to keep your member information current, complete, and accurate.
12.3 You are solely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your Rewards Account.
12.4 Individuals who access their Rewards Account through www.claires.com are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for restricting access to their computer or mobile device that may result in unauthorized or fraudulent activity on their Rewards Account.

13. Modification of Claire’s Rewards


13.1 Claire’s reserves the right to modify, suspend, terminate, or otherwise change any aspect of Claire’s Rewards, these Terms, and Additional Terms, including without limitation: (i) the eligibility conditions for participation in Claire’s Rewards; (ii) the manner in which you participate; (iii) the manner and rates at which Points and Reward Coupons are earned and redeemed; (iv) redemption mechanisms; or (v) what constitutes a Qualifying Activity. We will, where possible, provide you with at least 10 days' advance notice of any such changes but the notice we provide may be shorter if there is a change in the law or there are security reasons which mean that we need to make such changes.

14. Limitation of Liability


14.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
(a) death or personal injury caused by our actions, omissions or negligence;
(b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and
(c) any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or restrict our liability.
14.2 If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for direct loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is: (i) not foreseeable; or (ii) arises as a result of your breach of these Terms. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into these Terms.
14.3 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights in relation to your rights as a Consumer. Advice about your statutory rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office in the UK, your local Citizens Information centre or the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Ireland or elsewhere from your equivalent local consumer protection authorities.

15. General Information


15.1 Claire’s Rewards is enforceable as permitted by applicable law. If any part of these Terms or Additional Terms is invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision, and the remainder of these Terms and Additional Terms will govern such participation.
15.2 Our performance under these Terms and Additional Terms will be excused to the extent that such performance is hindered, delayed or made commercially impractical by causes beyond our reasonable control.
15.3 If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Terms, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you, we will only do so in writing, and that will not mean that we will automatically waive any later default by you.
15.4 If you are resident in the European Union and wish to have more information on online dispute resolution, please follow this link to the website of the European Commission: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. This link is provided as required by Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council, for information purposes only. We are not obliged to participate in online dispute resolution.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction


16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This means that your participation the Claire’s Rewards program, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection therewith (including non-contractual disputes or claims), will be governed by English law.
16.2 You can bring proceedings in respect of these Terms in the English courts. If you are a consumer, you may bring any dispute which may arise under these Terms to - at your discretion - either the competent court of England, or to the competent court of your country of habitual residence if this country of habitual residence is within the UK or is an EU Member State, which courts are - with the exclusion of any other court - competent to settle any of such a dispute. We shall bring any dispute which may arise under these Terms to the competent court of your country of habitual residence if this is within the UK or is an EU Member State, or otherwise the competent court of England.
16.3 If you are a consumer who is resident in the European Union and we direct the Claire’s Rewards program to (and/or pursue our commercial or professional activities in relation to the Claire’s Rewards program in) the UK or the EU Member State in which you are resident, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. Nothing in these Terms, including clause 16.1, affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.
