AFTERCARE 101
Wash your hands well with antibacterial soap.
Soak a cotton ball 3x per day with Claire's Aftercare lotion, cleaning the front & back of your piercing.
Carefully slide the piercing back & forth so the solution enters the piercing.
Rotate the piercing a half turn back & forth a few times, making sure the backing isn't too close to the ear.
Check for any redness or swelling that lasts over 24 hours & talk to your doctor if this occurs.

Always try to keep your new ear piercing free from soap, perfumes and hair products, and take care when brushing your hair, exercising, playing sports, talking on your phone, sleeping or wearing headphones. We suggest that you avoid swimming for 24 hours after your piercing and, thereafter, make sure you clean your ears with your Claire's After Care Lotion, follow your recommended aftercare schedule, and make sure to always wash your hands before touching your new piercing.
A new piercing is exciting and we know you will want to try new styles soon. However, it is important to give your ears time to heal before changing your ear piercing.
Lobe Piercing: If you are using Standard After Care Lotion, it is usually necessary to wait 6 weeks before changing your earrings. With ™Rapid After Care Lotion you can usually change your earrings after 3 weeks.
Cartilage Piercing: For cartilage, you will need to leave your earring in for at least 12 weeks with our Standard After Care Lotion. With the use of ™Rapid After Care Lotion, you can usually change your cartilage piercing after 8 weeks.
Nose Piercing (select stores in the US, UK, EU & Quebec): Your new nose stud can be changed in as little as 6 weeks with ™Rapid After Care Lotion or 8 weeks with Standard After Care Lotion.
After piercing, it is normal for the area to feel hot and maybe a little sore. If you have any swelling, redness or find the piercing painful after 24 hours, please seek medical advice immediately without removing your ear piercing.
