We’re very excited to announce that this year Claire’s will be supporting Make-A-Wish, to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions all around the world.
All about Make-A-Wish®
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish is the world’s largest wish-granting organization, helping children in nearly 50 countries on five continents! With the help of generous donors and more than 40,000 volunteers worldwide, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the world every 17 minutes!*
Types of Wishes
Claire’s supports Make-A-Wish by granting shopping sprees and fulfilling wishes such as “I want to be a princess” or “I want to be a model”. Typically children’s wishes fall into 4 categories:
I wish to be…a zookeeper, a firefighter, a baker
I wish to meet…a favorite celebrity or athlete
I wish to have…a computer, a shopping spree,
a playhouse, a puppy
I wish to go…to a theme park, Hawaii,
a major sporting event
Make-A-Wish makes these life-changing wishes possible to thousands of children around the world.
Amazing facts about Make-A-Wish

Meet some of the inspirational wish children below and discover their Make-A-Wish stories
Kionna, 6 Wilms tumor
I wish to be a cowgirl
Kionna has a hero. She’s not found on a field or in a comic book. She knows how to horseback ride, lasso and always keeps her town crime-free. Her favorite cartoon character always “saves the day”. Kionna was ready to saddle up for her Make-A-Wish experience. She arrived at Heaven’s Gate Farm with her family for her own Wild West adventure in a new outfit, complete with a pink bandana and cowgirl hat.
Her wish not only gave her lifelong memories, but the courage and strength to keep going. Kionna can save the day in her own life. She is currently in remission.
Mahlia, 4 acute lymphoid luekemia
I wish to be a ballerina
Mahlia had always loved playing with her brothers and being active. She especially loved dancing. When she stopped being the bright and bubbly child that her family knew, her mother became worried. When nose bleeds and high fevers became commonplace, Mahlia’s mom took her to the hospital. Shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed. A journey of treatments and hospital stays awaited her.
Make-A-Wish knew that Mahlia’s wish — to be a ballerina — had to come true. Working with the Tulsa Ballet, her wish came to life. She practiced doing basic ballet steps, setting a foundation for the lessons she’ll take after her treatments.
